Patent Agent
Location: Silicon Valley, California

This candidate will be responsible for assisting with obtaining integrated circuit related patents, from invention disclosures to issuance of patents.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation, filing, and/or prosecution of US and foreign patent applications.
Capture, document and review novel ideas and inventions.
Assess and edit patent application drafts prepared by patent lawyers.
Effectively communicate and interact with attorneys and inventors.
Assure claimed technology-versus-specification/drawings correlation match exists.
Assist with replies to Office Actions and support of international filing/prosecution efforts.

Experience:

Solid background in CMOS/bipolar semiconductor technologies, including 7+ years as a process/ manufacturing and circuit design engineer.
Applicable knowledge of patent law, including 3+ years with preparing, filing, and/or prosecuting of semiconductor patent applications.
In addition, 5+ years experience as a Patent Engineer, including writing technical papers or generating semiconductor-related publication materials, is a plus.
Must have strong communication skills including mastery of the English language and experience with all common Microsoft Office software.

Education:

B.S/M.S./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent semiconductor experience.
Patent Agent registered before the USPTO; or committed to prepare for and pass the patent bar.
