Description:
Responsible for performing the duties of a Legal Specialist for the
Specialty Markets - Pharmaceuticals Operations legal team.
Duties include:
* Review and analysis of contract proposals, scopes of work, budgets,
and other relevant documents
* Contract drafting and negotiating
* Review and analysis of educational grants and other relevant
documents
* Duties may also include review and analysis of promotional and
advertising materials
* Employee will interact within the legal department and with
cross-functional departments, including marketing, medical, regulatory
and sales
* Evaluate company policy issues and advise clients regarding policies
* Develop, conduct, or assist with training regarding policy,
compliance, privacy, contractual approval and negotiation
* Legal Specialists handle projects independently with minimal
oversight
* Legal Specialists must exercise independent judgment on a variety of
important matters, and must independently prioritize their
projects
* Legal specialists interact with clients, vendors, service providers,
third parties and customers independently
Requirements:
* Paralegal certification, law school graduate or junior attorney
strongly preferred
* In-house pharmaceutical experience preferred
* Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts highly
desirable
* Understanding of contract law preferred
* Experience/understanding of the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act
and corresponding regulations and health care fraud and abuse
preferred
* Legal Specialists have bachelors degrees and prior work
experience that have trained them in some or all aspects of their job
responsibilities
* Legal Specialists have developed specialized knowledge relating to
contract drafting and negotiation
* Legal/regulatory issues and compliance issues
* Legal Specialists engage in continuing professional development
within their areas of expertise and to learn new areas of the law
* Team player with a good work ethic
* Needs to be very organized and efficient
* Needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in Word and database management
