Location: Philadelphia, PAA growing PA-based intellectual property consulting firm seeks
Intellectual Property Analysts / Agents with various levels of
experience. Candidates with an emphasis in Computer Science with very
strong writing skills are desired. Patent knowledge is a big plus.
We are currently evaluating candidates for our Center City
Philadelphia office. Doylestown-based positions may also be
available.
Primary duties will include:
Planning and execution of patent mining activities.
Working with clients to determine areas of interest.
Development of targeted searches to retrieve patents and
applications with high potential.
Review of patents to determine claim scope and quality.
Analysis of patent claims in relation to products and prior art.
Communicating results, in a professional manner, to senior
analysts and clients.
Successful candidates will have broad familiarity with a wide array of
technologies. Particular experience with complex Internet/web
application development, video and audio, automotive electronics,
medical devices, satellite navigation, or telecommunications would be
helpful.
Programming skills, including knowledge of AJAX, UI design and
requirements drafting, are preferred. Responsibilities could involve
assisting in developing our custom patent mining application depending
on candidate skills.

Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or
a related field.
Five (5) years Engineering / R&D experience required.
Strong communication skills.
Strong understanding of networking and communication technologies.
The successful candidate will be required to take and pass the
USPTO Registration Exam (Patent Bar) during the first year of
employment.
A demonstrated interest in intellectual property is preferred.
