POSITION OVERVIEW: Provide legal advice and counsel to management for the Retail Information Services, Industrial and Automotive Products, Performance Films and Business Media divisions. An experienced attorney who has major matter and client interface on all legal matters and with supervisory responsibilities for outside counsel on specific projects and litigation. This position headquarters is based in the Regional Law Department in Mentor, Ohio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a broad range of legal support to various business units, and facilities throughout North America. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring legal support for divisions in other jurisdictions.
Manage all legal matters, including contracts, environmental, health and safety, employment, real estate, credit – including commercial negotiations, disputes and claims, antitrust, regulatory; provide advice concerning potential or pending litigation; selecting, directing and managing litigation counsel; drafting, negotiating settlement agreements and releases.
Participate in the leadership teams of the divisions supported.
Transactional work including, drafting and negotiating license, secrecy, joint development, consulting and confidentiality agreements; selected mergers and acquisition projects.
Manage and budget outside counsel fees.
Some travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a law degree and preferably be a member of the Ohio Bar
Must have 10-15 years of legal experience; corporate and private law firm experience are desirable
Must have the ability to deal effectively with a variety of legal matters
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Energetic and proactive, business oriented approach
