RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage team of patent agents in the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications for inventions and discoveries made by or licensed to Wyeth.
• Distribute, oversee and review the work product of the agents.
• Identify research that may be subject to filing of patent applications.
• Develop strategies for preparing and filing patent applications.
• Work with inside and outside foreign counsel to file and prosecute foreign patent applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor\\\'s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.
• J.D., admission to state bar, and admission to U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
• 7+ years experience with a law firm and/or corporation.
• Must be able to work closely with people from diverse backgrounds and at different levels in the company.
• Ability to present legal position and withstand client pressure for a contrary position that could be adverse to the company.
• Willingness to travel to USPTO interviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.
PREFERRED:
• Advanced degree.
• Preparation of infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions.
• In-House experience.
