Patent Counsel - TIME WARNER CABLE

Responsibilities:

Time Warner Cable seeks to fill a newly created position of Associate Patent Counsel. Primary responsibilities will include: (1) development of the company\\\'s patent portfolio, including oversight and facilitation of patent prosecution, (2) analysis of third party patents, and (3) providing some licensing and litigation support. The position reports to the company\\\'s Chief Counsel, Intellectual Property in Stamford, CT and will involve working closely with the company\\\'s engineers, management team, vendors and outside counsel.

Requirements:

JD plus BS or MS in CS, EE, Physics or the like with excellent academic credentials.

2-5+ years of law practice experience including analysis of invention disclosures and preparation and prosecution of patent applications , and preparation of validity and infringement opinions. Some litigation, standards body or licensing experience desirable but not necessary.

Significant telecommunications or computer industry technical experience is highly desirable.

Detailed knowledge and hands-on experience in patent law.

Able to understand and quickly grasp different areas of technology.

Strategic, team oriented, creative thinker with excellent communication, business judgment, problem solving and organizational skills.
